A wardrobe full of cycling jerseys

The rotation system

As much as I’d like to think that I’m a free spirit, I’m old, set in my ways and rule-bound. Over the years I’ve adopted my own rules and systems to live by. They work for me and don’t seem to do anyone else harm, so why not?

Ever wonder what you’ll wear on today’s ride? I don’t because I have the “Rotation System”.

Take a look at my wardrobe photo at the top of this post. This is the key to the system – it drives what I’ll wear for every single ride. As I wash my jerseys, they enter the system on the left. Every day when it’s time to ride I take the jersey on the right – where jerseys and undershirts meet.

This of course drives the knick selection – because matchy, matchy. Next comes socks – again fairly simple because matchy, matchy. The cap comes next because I’m bald and we live in one of the melanoma capitals of the world – and again matchy, matchy.
